2025 Legislative Recap

The Nevada Legislative Session lasts just 120 days and takes place every other year (called a biennial legislature). The 2025 session began on Monday, February 3 and ended on Monday, June 2.
In our first legislative session, Act4Kids Nevada provided testimony and/or written support for 14 bills. We collaborated with experts at Children’s Advocacy Alliance, Nevada Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities, and the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services to share patient and family stories with elected representatives. Our efforts were maximized during Children’s Week in March with several board members attending hearings and floor sessions in person in Carson City.
While not every piece of legislation we championed made it through, we are proud of the work put forth and are already planning for the 2027 session. Thank you to the youth and families who shared their experiences, testified during hearings, and advocated in their communities for legislation that will help move Nevada towards comprehensive pediatric healthcare for every child!
