Press Release: Free-Standing Children’s Hospital

Act4Kids Nevada Supports Free-Standing Children’s
Hospital at the Harry Reid Research & Technology Park

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAS VEGAS, Nevada / 23 October 2024 —

The healthcare needs of Nevada’s most vulnerable population have reached a critical tipping point in recent years. Calls for a statewide, comprehensive children’s health system have been amplified by parents, advocates, and healthcare providers through Act4Kids Nevada. Advocacy efforts at the local, county, and state levels have proven successful as Intermountain Health unveiled the future site of Nevada’s first stand-alone children’s hospital in Las Vegas.

Act4Kids Nevada is excited to see our advocacy efforts moving healthcare systems to action in prioritizing the health and wellbeing of our children; however, our work is far from over. We are committed to a collaborative relationship with all organizations who are working towards comprehensive healthcare for Nevada’s children, while ensuring child and family voices are present at all levels of planning and decision-making.

“We are grateful to have attended the site unveiling for a free-standing children’s hospital in Las Vegas, and applaud Intermountain’s commitment to children’s health across Nevada,” said Chelsea Bishop, President of Act4Kids Nevada. “We will continue our advocacy efforts as plans develop, and are dedicated to bringing patient-centered, comprehensive care to all of Nevada’s children. We are excited to welcome a brighter future for our children’s health!”

Opportunities to advocate will continue at the city, county, and state levels to ensure the success and sustainability of a free-standing children’s hospital. Act4Kids Nevada encourages the public to sign up for action alerts at https://bit.ly/A4KNVActionAlerts.
