About the Board

The Act4Kids Nevada (A4K) Board of Directors serves as the required body of authority in ensuring the organization meets all federal, state, local, financial, legal, and internal bylaw requirements, as they pertain to nonprofit corporations. A4K runs on 100% volunteer power and the mission is personal to each of us. Our founders and current Board of Directors are parents, caregivers, advocates, and/or healthcare professionals. Learn more about our current Board here.

Board Positions

The current Board of Directors is comprised of individual positions (Board Directors), officer positions (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer), and committees (fundraising, events, legislative, executive). Each position is critical in the effective functioning of the organization and we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team.

Board Member Expectations

Board Members are expected to attend and fully participate in all aspects of the Board – including monthly virtual meetings and an annual in-person meeting – providing both personal opinion and professional expertise. Members shall serve a two-year term at minimum and are expected to uphold organizational by-laws and policies, follow all privacy guidelines of the healthcare industry, and maintain strict confidentiality regarding organizational activities. Each Board Member is a public face of A4K and should present themselves accordingly in official capacities.

Fundraising
Board Members are encouraged to participate in all fundraising activities of the organization. Board Members are also encouraged to make an annual donation to the organization of a minimum of $100.

Compensation & Expenses
Members of the Board serve in a volunteer capacity and receive no compensation. No Member shall incur personal expenses on behalf of the organization.

Time
Board Members can expect to dedicate 10 hours per month to Act4Kids activities. Evenings and weekends may be involved based on events and programs offered.
